Calendar Changes

There's a lot of griping about colour coding in Google's Calendar. I finally bit the bullet and stopped waiting for it to be implemented the way I (and many others) thought it should be.
I wanted one calendar with colour options. But that's not the way it's been designed and implemented. Google Calendar wants the user to maintain several calendars, which are individually colour coded. A 5 period day becomes 5 calendars?
So, I'm running multiple colour coded calendars now. This will be interesting. My biggest stumbling block was not setting them up, but in the embedding.

How do I embed multiple Calendars?

Embedding multiple Google Calendars into your Google Site is as simple as following the directions below.

  1. In your Google Calendar click on the settings link.
  2. Click on the name of the Calendar that you wish to use.
  3. Under the "Embed Your Calendar" section, click on the link that says "Customize the color, size, and other options".
  4. You'll then be given the option to select which Calendars you wish to include.
  5. Select which of the various settings you want to use and select which Calendars you wish to display.
  6. Click the "Update HTML" button at the top of the page.
  7. Copy the HTML code from the box and return to your Google Site.
  8. Click on the "Edit Page" button to enter into the Page Editor.
  9. Click on the "Insert button" and select "More Gadgets" from the drop down menu.
  10. Select "Featured" from the list on the left hand side of the screen.
  11. Click on "Embed Gadget" and click on the "Add" button to add it to your site.
  12. Paste the HTML code in the box that says "Embedding Snippet".
  13. Click "Ok"
  14. Be sure to edit the "Width" and "Height" of the Gadget to reflect the options that you chose for your calendar.
  15. Click "Save" and you've just embedded multiple Google Calendars into your Google Site.
